Q) You have compared nano shampoo with minoxodil...minox causes hairloss before new growth occurs. I have witnessed this firsthand. I was wondering if nano does the same thing?

Ans: Yes. This is caused by follicles coming out of dormancy with hair loss treatment and shedding loss phase hair early. Every hair loss treatment agent that brings follicles out of dormancy ( which means everything that works ) does it in some people.

A couple caveats: early induced shedding of loss-phase hair on starting hair loss treatment is only noticible perhaps 10-15% of the time and is benign, since the hair was about to fall out anyway. Loss-phase (Telogen) hair lasts only 2-4 months at best. Also, it is the first sign that treatment is working and tends to be associated with good eventual hair growth.

Q. The weird thing about minox with me is that it grows hair in cycles i.e. I grow, I shed, I grow, etc. Ever hear of that behavior?

Ans: Relatively common. If a bunch of hair follicles come out of dormancy together, they tend to go thru the hair cycle together.
